Hi! I’m Joseph Makinson, I’m a second year BA Fashion student at Manchester fashion institute. I specialise in Print and surface design and hold technical skills such as creative pattern cutting and garment construction. My work consists of conceptual men’s and womenswear, with a focus on materials and construction whilst elevating these with surface and print design.
EDUCATION

WORK EXPERIENCE
June 2022 - Present: Bolton Lads and Girls Club - Holiday Play and Arts Worker, Westhoughton, Bolton
- Provided young people with arts based activities.
- Ensured a safe and protected environment for the young people.
March - June 2022: Assisting final year, Niamh Dobson (Manchester Fashion Institute)
- Helping BA Fashion final year and Arts of Fashion finalist, Niamh Dobson with her. graduate collection
- Pattern cutting, toiling, construction, and assisting during fittings.
- Dresser for university fashion show and Graduate Fashion Week 2022.
2018 - 2020: Works of Heart - Paint a Pot, Volunteer shop assistant. Horwich, Bolton
- Assisting the shop owner with daily tasks.
- Running activities with customers, helping with questions, and taking payments.

- Picking and packing orders.
